What is CRG’s agenda?

October 17, 2005

Below is a link to JSOnline article.

JS Online: Citizens group takes personal agenda to judge

Several Judges felt the were being pressed….

“Actually, the judges at the meeting said Kliesmet was not offering them the same deal as the county. They said he would look for companies to underwrite an efficiency study of the courts, preferably using Six Sigma. Or, the judges said, he would try to help overturn the $4 million spending cut if a portion of that could go toward the efficiency effort.”

Read the article. Maybe (just maybe since this comes from the Journal Sentinal) there is more to CRG than meets the eye.

I apologize for not sending you my complete rebuttal to the MJS. But let me synopsize. I promise to be only a little pissed.

    1. I have no business interests in Six Sigma.
    2. While I am trained in it and appreciate its value I am not certified to deliver Six Sigma Services.
    3. I have no infrastructure to deliver Six Sigma services.
    4. I have been an unpaid volunteer for almost four years now having contributed thousands of hours and dollars to what I believe are just causes without so much as one red cent in return. Where is the evidence that I EVER had a profit motive?

Yes, it is true I said if someone outside the county where to offer me a fee in the future I would take it. I simply doubt anyone would be that dumb given my lack of qualifications. I would also take $10 mil from the Packers to play left tackle but that’s not going to happen either.

S&B play this little game of “what if” asking a series of dubious leading questions until they get the answers they need. They then take them out of context and ascribe your answer to their conjecture.

Even if it were true that my motive was profit, SO WHAT? Everything is being given to the county FOR FREE! You got a problem with capitalism? I hope to heck that all the contributors do make a buck someday down the road. That will have meant Six Sigma was a huge success at the county. Unfortunately, I am not likely to see one thin dime which is just fine by me. I will have gotten what I want, clean, efficient government.

The courts are another story altogether. Orville Seymer called Judge Brennan to suggest that, like the county, Six Sigma could help the courts out of their fiscal jam. She agreed to see Orville and he called me for for technical support. I told the judges that I could not speak for the private businesses that gave free services to the county and that they may well have to pay for it. I also said that we would have no interest in helping to restore funding to a unit of government that was not serious about reducing costs. What is the sense of restoring cuts only to face the issue again next year. Yeah, so there is little old Chris in the Chief Judges chambers with four judges arrayed around me, powerful people with the power to levy fines and imprisonment on a whim, and I am pressing THEM? Give me a break.

NOW HERE IS WHERE I GET REALLY PISSED. HOLD ON!

There are sincere people out there working their butts off for free trying to pull the county out of the $121 million hole (and counting) that corrupt politicians put us into and you got the Journal Sentinel taking cheap shots. It is the kind of chilling intimidation that keeps good people from coming forward to help. Get involved and the state’s largest newspaper will pillory you. The government good ole boy club and their sycophants are terrified because they know Six Sigma will expose their charade.

CRG’s agenda is to crusade against corruption and waste. Action over talk is our trademark. We get our hands dirty while others sit and spin. It is the hallmark of cowards who are lazy or afraid to make a mistake to do nothing. Our track record speaks for itself. Instead of just offering advice from behind the curtain why not jump in? It seems we agree on just about everything save the folks at PBG. I have lost many a battle with the CRG board (not the least of which was my opposition to endorsing Scott Walker) but it doesn’t stop me from participating.

    HARUMPH!

    Smile now,

  2. Awful testy there Chris. I believe if you look at the quote I extracted it was pointing towards your efforts to expand spending in Milwaukee County.

Second point is a response to your point number 4. Neither S&B nor I need “evidence”.

My standards are based on common sense ethics not criminal law. Can you say OJ, Michael Jackson, or Robert Blake? No criminal infractions there either. What CRG did was unethical and worthy of ridicule and shame! Well, at least in my humble opinion but that’s just me.

  3. David:

LOL! The funny thing is that I predicted your reply when I wrote that line. Don’t ever say I never gave you anything.

Once again, we both prove how great America is with our differences of opinion. The only thing that vexes me is that we continue to accentuate our differences when we agree on about 99% of things. When are we going to stop fighting with each other and spend some time at going after the real bad guys? Can you imagine what a team we would make?

    Keep Rockin’

    Chris Kliesmet

P.S. Yeah, so I’m testy. Ever had a bad day? Well you know what THEY say. No good deed goes unpunished!

  4. Work together? The first step is the removal of the slanderous item referring to the Pewaukee Police officers. Until then, nothing will EVER nudge me to work with you or the CRG.

  5. David:

It is clear you heard nothing I said and that further communication with you is fruitless. Let me make one last reiteration of where I stand.

    1. My respect for rank and file police officers is unquestioned. You know my history – I lived it. I made it clear the problem is in the Pewaukee command structure with the possible exception of Captain Funkhauser. Slander? Hardly! If you can’t deal with a little sarcasm you have no place in the arena of serious political debate. You are just looking for reasons to be angry. FYI, I drive alone and exceed the speed limit in Pewaukee on a regular basis. Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone (ahhh – that would be more sarcasm).

    2. Apparently, it is your way or the highway. Unless I prescribe to 100% of your views you have no use for me or CRG. This is exactly why many grassroots groups are ineffective. They require 100% agreement before they move in solidarity. CRG does not play that self-defeating game.

    3. If you do not want to work together on the 99% of things we agree on then fine, I will move on. CRG is trying to build a fiscal conservative coalition across the state. We have little time for people who stand the 80/20 rule its head. We are stronger with you than without you but it is, and hopefully always will be, your choice.

Finally, don’t bother trying to “get my goat” with any further attacks on my or CRG’s intentions or character. Reasonable people can and do disagree, but, I am no longer going to bite. All my replies do is lend credence to your screed and build your blog traffic. I have thoroughly enjoyed the debate but it is abundantly clear this is going nowhere. Sadly, I feel it’s time to find another dueling partner. One who will fight alongside me from time to time instead of professing to be eternally against my organization over some perceived slight.

    Good day,

    Chris Kliesmet

  6. I am sorry I hurt your feelings. Let me know when Chris can come out and play again.
